Kalamata Airport
Kalamata airport is just under 100km (60 miles) south of The Olive Farm, and is actually closer to Messini than Kalamata, although neither town is large enough to present difficulties when driving. The road is extremely picturesque, winding as it does through some substantial mountains before finding the Ionian Sea. The last 30 km follows the beach along the bay from Kyparissia to our village of Kato Samiko. Car rental is available from the airport.

Athens International Airport (El Venizelos) Athens airport is a brand-new facility, built specifically for the 2004 Olympic Games. Despite being the main airport for Greece, it has only one terminal for international flights, and is not big enough to present any difficulties whatsoever when navigating your way around the complex. It is served by excellent bus and train connections to the city-centre, and has a by-pass to avoid Athens completely should you wish to drive directly to the Peloponnese. The Olive Farm is approximately 300km (180 miles) from the airport, and the drive should take around three and a half hours. |
